Quite strangely, the films that have queued up for this festive season, Dasara, have either low buzz or no buzz. Big-budget films like Abhinetri, Jaguar are hardly making any noise. While Naga Chaitanya-Shruti Haasan’s Premam was a bit better, courtesy Chaitu’s off-screen love-track with Samantha. Meanwhile, Sunil’s Eedu Gold Ehe again has little buzz.
Touted to be made on whopping Rs 75 Crore budget, Nikhil Kumaraswamy’s Jaguar is in silent mode. Though the former CM did certain hungama sometime back, but now there’s a stoic silence as the film is gearing up for release in two days. It seems, Kumaraswamy and his dad-former PM Deve Gowda are occupied with politics of Cauvery-water row and not able to pay much attention towards Jaguar.
Surprisingly, Kona Venkat who usually promotes his films well in advance hasn’t done the same for Abhinetri. Besides few interviews of Prabhudeva, Tamanna to media, there’s hardly any other promotion of the film.
Even Sunil’s Eedu Gold Ehe carrying little buzz. With the trailer being a let down and no noise of the film, there are no expectations on the film. Though Sunil’s last film Jakkanna did turn out to be a safe bet, the film was panned by critics and it failed to meet the expectations. Let’s wait and see which film or films will come out of flying colours.
